Meditate without interrupting your day
It would be nice if everyone had 20 minutes of free time everyday to just sit there and meditate, but that’s not really the world we live in anymore. Now, we have to make time for meditation while we’re busy with other things. The only time when you can meditate while still appearing to be busy is at your desk. Set aside 15-20 minutes — maybe during lunchtime or right before — to focus on your breathing and nothing else. The best thing about meditation is that you notice the positive effects right away. As soon as you’re done, you feel relaxed.
Try a healthy hobby
Going to the gym is one thing, but developing a healthy hobby is a surefire way to stay in shape without ever having to force yourself to exercise. When you have a healthy hobby, healthy living just becomes your normal lifestyle. Try getting into pick-up basketball, or start timing yourself on jobs and runs. If you’re able to, try investing in a blow up kayak and finding a nearby stream to explore every weekend. You probably have to force yourself to got to the gym, but you won’t have to force yourself to enjoy your new healthy hobby.
Buy healthy so you can live healthy
You can’t eat unhealthy food if you don’t have unhealthy food in your kitchen, right? Sure, you might still get cravings for potato chips and chocolate, but you can’t eat what’s not there. One of the keys to eating healthy is buying healthy snacks. We’re talking about unsalted popcorn, nuts, fruit and snackable veggies like carrots and peppers. You’ll be disappointed when you don't see any Pringles in your cupboard, but you’ll be healthier because of it.
Go easy on yourself
This last tip might sound counterproductive, but hear us out. You really don’t want to add stress to your life just because you’re trying to eat healthy. Don’t be hard on yourself if you miss a workout or eat an extra slice of pizza. Just try again tomorrow!
