Decorating Advice from your Hyland Village Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

If you’ve recently arrived at our community of Hyland Village apartments, you’re probably still trying to figure out how to best decorate your place. It’s not easy coming up with a new style for your new apartment, but we’re here to help. In the blog post below, we’ll be sharing some tips that you can use to beautify your new place and make it look all your own. We’re not going to tell you which couch to buy, or whether to go with art on the wall instead of pictures, but we are going to share some simple rules that should help you make the most of your space.

Living in an apartment is all about maximizing your available floor space and making your rooms seem open and airy. The more you can do that throughout your apartment, the more you’ll love your new place. Let’s see if we can help you make it happen, shall we? Oh, and when you’re done reading through this week’s blog, please be sure to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at Caliber — the apartments Hyland Village residents choose for contemporary comfort.

Hang a statement piece

While you might be tempted to fill the walls of your place with many different pieces of art, it’s important to step back and consider whether or not that’s really the best look for your place. One downside to hanging all these different pieces is the fact that it could make your place look cluttered. If you want a simple, clean look that won’t cramp your style, try going with one large piece instead of many smaller pieces. The simplicity will make your place seem more open and less busy.

Keep large furniture away from entrances

When you walk into a room, you should see open space in front of you. Whether it’s your living room or your bedroom, the more clear sightlines, the better. The best way to create clear sightlines is to keep large pieces away from the entrances. When we say large pieces of furniture, we’re mostly referencing your couches, entertainment centers and large shelves. Put those near the back of the room and watch as your living space opens up in front of your eyes.

Brighten things up

The more light colors you have in your apartment, the more open it will look. Dark colors are good for creating cozy living spaces, but they don’t do much in terms of making your space seem bigger. If you’re looking for more room, keep things bright!
